  1. I think it's too much significant because it's talk about the Creator of everything , about the nature and it's secrets and about us and our competence ....
I mean that there are alot of things that makes us think deeply about it's Creator and how it becomes like that .

  2. Truly, this poem is a short one, however, it so significant. It's a symbolic one. It combines between life and progress symbolized by man, and religion symbolized by God. Both religion and science are connected and essential for human beings. However, we should realize and contemplate " God " and " man " .

  3. this poem shows human motive to
    understand life.
if we truly want to grasp life’s meaning, we need to look carefully at flowers.

Tennyson is not speaking to the flower but is communicating with himself (having an internal dialogue) about the flower which is a symbol of God and his creation

  5. Although this poem is a short one but it carries a lot of deep meanings.
The poet here choosed the flower as it is a part of nature and this nature refers to God who creates it..

It's all about God and Man. It's to remind us that wherever we goes, we'll always find something that reminds us of God

  6. Rereading it you get a very good rythm
The poet has seen a flower struggling to survive in a crack . He plucks it out of curiosity .
It is a miracle of life but curiosity has killed it.
THE WRITER HAS THE POWER OF LIFE AND DEATH FOR THE FLOWER .
what is life . where does the person , flower go when dead
If we could understand that relationship then we might understand something about God
    Thanks

  7. I loved this poem alot. Although it's short, it's very precised and into the very point. "Flower in the crannied wall" >> a living thing in something lifeless ... Doesn't it make us think of God and his might? The excellent use of the scientific expression "plack you out" in this sort-of-religious poem ... As it was written during the industery revolution time; when science and religion arouse as a conflict of that period of time. So here, the poet made an amazing mixture of both: science and religion, since science lead us to God, and that shows us the relation between "God and man" ...

  9. We as ordinary people may not pay the same attention to this little flower between the crannies as Tennyson did !! …and that’s what makes this short poem significant itself !..even more… he is making a special dialogue and communicating with the flower by holding it in his hands trying to understand the secret of this universe through this little rose …I suppose.
But what makes Tennyson significant as a poet and many others like him is that you never expect what they intend to write about!, even if you did you just smile to your self and really enjoy reading their SIGNIFICANT work .. just like this one .

  10. Truely he tell us how little we know about life itself. Here,Tennyson isn't interested in what the audience thinks because he is alone. His little flower incorporates everything. It is not only a flower but everything, the flower which is a symbol of God and his creation.

  11. * What makes a short poem like 'Flower in the Crannied Wall' significant?

I think that what makes this poem fascinating is that it doesn't tell his readers a story as Goethe does but addresses the flower becaus he starts with it. He is not telling us stories of what he experienced but we are brought to the scene of experience. We're so to say experiencing it live. It is not a second hand experience from narration. Goethe plucks the flower although it tells him not to do so. He takes it to his house and plants it in his garden. He wants to tell us, viewers or readers, look how noble I am, because he takes it home. He doesn't realize that by taking the flower home he is taking her wild life away & domisticating it in his factory (garden). In that he is not different from industrialists and people who practise green house raising. It is like enslaving his flower and on top of that he wants to be applauded and praised because he doesn't kill it. However, he does't listen to what his flower says: do not pluck me or I will die.

    That's it.

  12. I think there are some points makes this poem significant.. like :
    * this poem is a short one but it carries a lot of deep meanings :
It talks about the Creator of everything , about the nature and it's secrets, about us and our competence, and it shows human motive to understand life ,as we see how Tennyson is speaking to a flower in an internal dialogue about the flower which is a symbol of God and his creation. But there is no answer from the flower and the audience is not part of the scene. We are only viewers of his philosophical reflections .
    * Another important point about this poem is in "tense" time doesn't play any important role.
    * He is also not interested in what the audience thinks because he is alone (intimate feelings).

  15. For me I think that this is a very compressed and concised poetry written in five verses. It's systematic and marvelous. The writer says that there are alot of things the reminds us of God and proves His existence.
Also, the auther tells us that there is something which is to be somehow compromisable about the co-existing of both science and religion in the same scope.

  16. this poem shows human motive to understand life and origins .in this short poem we see how Tennyson is speaking to a flower (his mood and state of mind). There is no answer from the flower and the audience is not part of the scene. We are only viewers of his philosophical reflections (we as an audience are not included (part)in this experience. we are outsiders). It is as if Tennyson is not speaking to the flower but is communicating with himself (having an internal dialogue) about the flower which is a symbol of God and his creation.
This is a very superficial way of approaching the poem. He doesn't see that Tennyson has a very analytical mind. It is true that he plucks the flower but with its roots. He only does so in order to understand it. How can you understand it if you do not see the roots. What's more there is no mention of what Tennyson has done with the flower after plucking it. How can he destroy the flower if he sees Got in it? This is very unlikely.
